Privacy Statement

Let’s face it. Americans are spoiled when it comes to being able to get just about anything we want. That includes food. In fact, North America has the easiest access to a wide variety of foods. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that you have a terrific assortment of fruits, vegetables, wild fish, and other nutritious foods that can feed and nourish your body. The bad news is that many people resort to cheap, non-nutritious foods that contain too much fat, salt, and sugar. While these foods may taste good and are easy to get, they damage the body over time and lead to high triglyceride levels, high blood pressure, diabetes, and many other ailments.

For most of my life, I’ve been one of the individuals who has eaten the cheap, non-nutritious foods. I’m now working hard to reverse the problems that my choices have caused me. At one point of my life, not too long ago, I provided every excuse as to why I was obese. My excuses ranged from healthy foods being too expensive to the fast food companies creating addictions that caused me to go back and eat more of their foods. How many of you can relate?

While some of my excuses had a marginal degree of fact to them, the bottom line is that no one made me eat anything. I wasn’t forced to eat a hamburger, french fries, a 48-ounce soda pop, and a deep fried apple pie. I chose to do it and now I must take responsibility for my actions. The point of a positive, mental transformation for me was when I accepted the fact that I was responsible for being fat. I couldn’t play the role of the victim any longer. I had to grow up emotionally and make decisions that would benefit me and my body.

If any of my readers can relate to my personal circumstances, then understand that there is some very good news for you. You have an opportunity to change the way you think about food! You can choose to make better decisions as you move forward. Not tomorrow. Not Monday. Now!

If I were a betting man, I’d bet that most of you reading this article will not have the willpower or enough self respect to start now. You’ll keep putting it off until tomorrow, next week, next month, after your birthday, after Valentines Day, etc. I hope I’m wrong but I doubt it. The excuses will continue if you don’t plant your mental stake in the ground and start now.

Isn’t your life worth it? Do you want to die fat and unhealthy? Do you want to get to your golden years and have considerable health problems and be immobile? Well, that very well could happen if you don’t do something about it now. We only get so many rides around the sun before our time is over. We don’t know when that day will come. For some of us sooner than others. Just something to think about.

Once you’ve planted your stake in the ground, you need to come to grips with the fact that the process won’t be easy. The process of going through food withdrawals may take its toll on you emotionally. You are an addict to the wrong foods, just like I was in the past. With most addictions, you have a season of pain in which your body readjusts and begins to restore health. Your season of pain may be filled with feeling hungry or depressed. If this happens to you, it’s ok. In fact, it’s great! Just have someone help you through this process so you can come out the other side renewed, re-energized, and learning healthy habits that will last you for the rest of your life.
