About this deal

After our own experience with the Duonamic Eleviia, we’ve come to the following advantages to using them as a substitute to a full-sized Pull-Up Bar. Portable & Lightweight

The most obvious consideration you'll need to make is how much space you have to accommodate a pull-up bar. If you have little space to spare, consider a door-mounted pull-up bar. If you have more space available, you may want a wall- or ceiling-mounted pull-up bar, or even a freestanding pull-up bar or tower. Style Compared to Travel Pull-Up Bars, however, they are still very bulky and heavy. You can’t fit them inside your bag or suitcase along with your clothes and toiletries. The real difference then boils down to size and weight. You could say that all Travel Pull-Up Bars are portable Pull-Up Bars but not all portable Pull-Up Bars are Travel Pull-Up Bars. When Do You Need a Travel Pull-Up Bar?

The handles are quite a stroke of genius. They are set in a circular rim and you can rotate them to any desired position. This gives you an unlimited number of options when it comes to gripping them, straight, diagonal or a hammer grip. Moving the handles themselves closer together or farther apart and with this circular rim means the JayFlex Ryze-Ups all but replace the need for a regular Pull-Up Bar.

With a maximum weight capacity of 250lbs, it competes in the top range of Door Pull Up Bars and can be used for virtually every Calisthenics exercise you can do with a “normal” Pull Up Bar. The only limiting factor being the two hand-sized handles and the ways you can grip them. The handles themselves are comfortable enough for extended use. The main attraction here is of course its dimensions. With measurements of 12” x 10” x 4¾” they take up virtually no space at all. The Duonamic Eleviia has two handle-types available: the classic pull-up bar grips and the Powrholds grips. For suspended core exercises and for pull ups, the classic grips are ideal. They are comfy, stable, easy to install and durable. Our absolute favorites when we’re away from home are the Duonamic Eleviia. This innovative take on a Travel Pull-Up Bar has been designed down the minutia to be light-weight, portable and just as versatile as a full-length Pull-Up Bar. They take all but 5 seconds to set up and nearly any doorframe in the world will work. The proprietary clamp design means that the more weight you hand from them, the tighter they clamp down around the molding (the trim around the doorframe). They are safe by design. If you like to (or plan to) add weights into your sets, be sure to buy a pullup bar that can support you and those additional pounds. All of the bars we recommend have a maximum weight capacity of at least 250 pounds (most are 300). Budget As you improve on your pullups, you may want to find ways to make them more difficult. “If you can blow out 20 pullups, you’re not really improving strength anymore,” says Waxman.

On the downside, it’s not as versatile as other pullup bars on this, largely due to its extremely simple design. Some reviewers note that the smooth (grip-free) bar is harder to keep a hold of than models with dedicated foam grips. Unlike portable, door-mounted models, this pullup bar obviously isn’t portable. So, if that matters to you, you may want to consider an alternative. A Doorway Pull Up Bar differs ever so slightly from a door frame in that it rests inside the frame of the door. A Doorway Pull Up Bar uses friction to clamp itself between the two long ends of the doorway, without using any clamps. Care must be taken than the Doorway Pull Up Bar has enough tension to properly adhere to the door frame. Needless to say, these are less reliable and less safe than Door Frame Pull Up Bars. They are a lot cheaper, however. Door Frame Pull Up Handles Portable pull up bars are typically designed for easy installation and removal. They allow the athlete freedom to exercise without having to build a home gym. Unfortunately, the term “portable” is a bit of misnomer. At three-feet across and a 20-centimetre depth, conventional portable bars are difficult to transport. Setting up the Duonamic Eleviia – photo by Ilya Sarossy This is the only Door Pull Up Bar on our list which doesn’t use foam padding. The powder coated steel has a perfect finish just fine enough and still coarse enough to give you all the grip you need. A major advantage of having just powder coated steel is that, unlike foam, it won’t dry up and become brittle (at least not in our lifetimes). All the parts that go into a Duonamic Eleviia are proprietary, down to the screws holding the two halves together. Everything has been precision engineered to fit and function just right. This is followed by rigorous testing; some of the testing devices obviously being made in-house. But that has a certain charm to it. This is where innovation happens; not a big white label manufacturer churning out copies of the same design, but in the homes and basements of enthusiastic young people with a keen edge for engineering and a passion for Calisthenics. To see that come to fruition as a brand demands our respect. But! Does it work? Our Expectations for this Duonamic Eleviia Review

The Pull Up and its many variations is a staple of Calisthenics exercise. They are a great way to build up upper-body strength and really workout those biceps too. Both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps requires their recruits to do Pull Ups every day as part of their physical training. If you can pull yourself up multiple times, it means you not only have enough strength but also that you have endurant strength. You can do that maximum exertion time and time again.
