I believe the most interesting aspect of this Legacy easement is that it is primarily in south county. It has no impact on the San Juan Valley and its surrounding hills to the west! It would be a boom to people in New Idria and Panoche, but I don't think that there is much pressure to put in massive sub divisions in that part of the county.
If a property owner chooses to do this, that is their right, just as it is their right not to participate in it. However, it is hoped if they do decide to participate in it, they thoroughly consider the consequences. The people who want to decide the destiny of someone else's property becomes very incensed when their property comes into question!!
As for the Free Lance being biased, I find it interesting that people only claim that when they disagree with the article.
San Benito county is not Marin County, no matter how hard some people try to make it into Marin. It has completely different demographics. When that is finally accepted, we can then work to make San Benito county the best that it can be.
It is always interesting that people move into this county and want to change it into either wherever they came from or where they would prefer to live! It also seems that the people who voice their opinions on how this county can be made so much different than it is the loudest, move out the quickest.
