About this deal

It's a pity that I was reading this book at the time when his sudden transfer from Liverpool to Saudi Arabia started to happen. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. And I think I admire him even more now for understanding a little more the physical and mental challenges he has been through to work to the top of a highly pressurised environment. Transferred to Liverpool in June 2011, Jordan’s early years at the club saw him struggle to settle under Sir Kenny Dalglish then Brendan Rodgers before eventually establishing himself at Anfield as a force of nature in midfield.

There are no earth shattering exposes, and the book contained very little new information as a Liverpool supporter.Off the field he is a fearless ambassador, with his role in backing the NHS following his work during the COVID-19 pandemic and unifying players across the Premier League to support NHS Charities Together. Full of heartache, excitement and triumph, this is a candid insight into the life of a top-flight footballer as you’ve never read before. There was shockingly few pages around his upbringing and time at Sunderland, and the whole book felt quite rushed (the letters on the pages are huge, so the 300-pages does not contain that many stories). As an avid Liverpool fan - much to my parents' chagrin - for 21 years now, and after reading https://www. An autobiography full of real insight into the life of a top-flight footballer, Henderson’s story also carries an inspirational message for anyone facing hurdles and barriers, that they will not stop you reaching your goals.

He is the only footballer to be named England Player of the Year twice, for the under 21s and then on the senior squad.I will just say that if you're looking to get to know Jordan Henderson more from a personal aspect, then this isn't that book.

He is the only player in history to have been named England Player of the Year at both under-21 and senior level. This is a used book - there is no escaping the fact it has been read by someone else and it will show signs of wear and previous use. It’s like a quick summary of the past 15 years… still, very enjoyable if you’re a Liverpool/Henderson fan. Even the insight on Liverpool were pretty basic - there were elements of discussion about how views on his teammates but no real depth to them.More importantly, it's also a lesson in perseverance, hard work, self-belief, leading by example and always trying to do the right thing. This is not an autobiography in which the subject blows his own trumpet for the entire book, Jordan mentions many many people who have been influential in his life and career. He may not be the best footballer in the world, and certainly a fair amount of fair and unfair criticism has been aimed at him, but you only have to look at what he and the team, with Jürgen and his coaching staff at the helm, have won throughout the years - even winning the club's first Premier League title in 30 years in 2020. So, it was great to reminisce and to pick up a few anecdotes from that period and insights into how he and other players dealt with the many ups and downs. Since then he has led the team to victory in the Champion’s League and secured the club’s first premiership title in 30 years.

In this book, Jordan charts his decade-long journey with the Reds, the challenges on and off the pitch, and how he established himself as one of the greatest footballers of our time. The story of Jordan's journey from Sunderland to Liverpool, and becoming one of the most successful football leaders England has seen now available in paperback. I really enjoyed this book, it has opened my eyes to the world of football and some of the players in it.Hendo is one of my favourite players and arguably one of the best ever Liverpool captain's so I was looking forward to reading this.
