Vegas is one of the most popular get-a-way destinations for residents of Southern California, which is a little over an hours flight from Orange County, or if driving a mere 4 hours. The opening of the new observation wheel, at the end of March, was therefore of great interest.
Along with the new dining and entertainment district - LINQ - on the famous Las Vegas Strip there is now a new reason for Orange County residents to visit this oasis in the desert, as the LINQ brings over 30 new unique retail, dining, and entertainment experiences to the city including the Polaroid Fotobar retail store and museum.
It is, however, the 'High Roller' which soars 550 feet with a 360-degree view of the Vegas area and the mountains around it, that is the focal point of this new outdoor establishment.
The High Roller has 28 glass-enclosed cabins with orange benches, music and video shows, it can accommodate 40 people in each cabin and takes 30 minute to complete one revolution. There is also an adjacent wheelhouse that can be rented for private parties and banquets. The ever-changing colors display a nightly show which starts when the sun goes down and remain on, until early morning.
Located at 3545 Las Vegas Blvd., South, it is open every day during the year. Tickets can be bought in groups of 10 or more or individually, with the standard day ticket cost of 24.95 and the standard night ticket .95 per person.
