Not really and unfortunately I do now own any of the THX models which are comparable in cost but the word around the net is that this one gives them a run especially in raw output power, hiss free operation with a smoother tonality free from sharp edgy sound characteristics. Let’s leave it there. A punch-hole’s real function is to tell you a phone is more expensive, more ‘high-end’, than this one, much like the curvy front of Samsung’s higher-end mobiles. With the LCD-X, this pairing gave the LCD-X an extra sense of oomph while making vocal-centric music a bit more enjoyable. However, with the already intimate nature of the LCD-X, I found this pairing less than ideal. Do not expose the earbuds to high or low temperatures, and do not use the earbuds during a thunderstorm.

I never tried the Formula S and remember, sometimes specs and numbers don’t describe intricacies, musicality and nuances. I personally push Hifiman Aryas with the A90 connected on the 4 pin XLR with room to spare and I feed it with a iFi NEO again, from the XLR outs with very good sonic results. I’m sure you won’t regret buying this one especially if you pair it with a good DAC. It’s quite a bargain. A lover of music, audio gear, and a Computer geek. This makes the bass region round and impactful, at the slight cost of some bass texture.I’m curious as to how the reviewer would compare it to some of the expensive amps he’s reviewed. If it has absolutely no coloration, doesn’t that in some ways make it the perfect amp? What more can be done? For example, how does an amp add soundstage, or does that happen at the DAC level. I used the RCA ins and outs since the iFi unit does not have a balanced input section. These earbuds are sweatproof and slightly waterproof. For electronic devices, we do not recommend that you submerge the earbuds in water.
