About this deal

FC Barcelona fans will love showing their passion for one of the world’s most celebrated soccer clubs with this rewarding building project. Build all the details of the mighty Camp Nou Stadium like the Lateral stand with its iconic ‘Més Que Un Club’ motto and the covered Tribuna stand, with press booths, plus the pitch itself. The model splits into 5 sections for access to each area. Antoine Griezmann abruptly left last night before the transfer window closed to take the burden off their finances. I suspect the “Camp Nou” signage and impressive glass wall will be the angle most fans choose to showcase this from, though. I tell ya, if they released an Architecture-scaled Anfield and Goodison, with Stanley Park in the middle, then I'd be in like a shot!!!

I have absolutely no interest in soccer or football, but I’m glad I bought the other stadium as an architectural set (and for the interesting parts). It’s more a building than a sport playset. For a similar reason some people bought the Sydney opera even though they are not opera fans. The final quadrant is a mirror of the third, with the final bit of lettering filling the middle tier.FC Barcelona and the LEGO Group announce the new LEGO® Camp Nou – FC Barcelona set, a detailed tribute to the iconic stadium. Fans can now build the Camp Nou stadium in all its historic glory, creating a spectacular 5,509-piece model that is sure to take centre stage in any supporter’s home Then, for anyone who is into their football, who does have more than a surface-level appreciation of the extra detail that has gone into the design here, 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona is another one of those very special LEGO sets to save up for and truly enjoy. The proportions are WAAAAY off. The stadium shouldn’t be that tall (look it up on google maps 3D) "

It’s not on the same level of disorientating repetition as we experienced in piecing together 10276 Colosseum – at all – but as a consequence of a) the natural shape of the real-world stadium, b) how similar that shape is to the Colosseum and c) how effective the technique used in constructing the Colosseum scales down for Camp Nou, there are parallels in the build experience, and without breaking up the process the repetition will become noticeable.Looks well designed but also incredibly repetitive to build. 5.5k pieces for €330 is good value, especially for a licensed set. That’s not to say that 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona is a carbon copy of 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United. There’s a base template and set of construction rules that both stadiums (and presumably any more that may come) follow that provides the framework that the more expressive and individualistic elements of the respective stadiums are then built around. 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona may remind you in places of 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United, but it’s also very much its own beast of a 5,509-piece LEGO set. (More on that later.) I don't care for it, but there are people who will so there's nothing wrong with this thing's existence" The Camp Nou is one of the symbols of FC Barcelona. We are therefore very proud to get the opportunity to jointly create this reproduction of the stadium with the LEGO Group that fans will be able to build from bottom to top and which represents the home of all Culers”. Statement by Rok Zgalin Kobe, designer of the LEGO Camp Nou: The next step puts the roof coverings on. There’s some clever tilework on the roof that does a good gapless job of approximating the curve of the glass wall below it. The roof overhanging the seating is braced with lightsaber hilts and blades in light grey, a detail that set designer Rok Zgalin Kobe calls out in the instruction books as a favorite touch.

From a LEGO perspective, Camp Nou is architecturally a fascinating subject matter to study, and one that makes 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona a very interesting model, in shape, design and colour. All that is immediately obvious in the set that sits before us, just as is the fact that at first glance there are clear echoes of 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United throughout. First off, let me state for the record that I’m not much of a sports fan, so I don’t have a lot of personal context for this set. I’ve looked over the required Wikipedia reading, but there might still be some athletics-related perspectives that I’ve missed or misstatements that will seem very silly to those in the know. Hopefully, you’re here to look at this set from a LEGO perspective, though – and that I’m sure I can provide. Wow -- that's quite an overwhelming majority of negative poll responses! 62% have no interest, 19% don't like it. Just 8% plan on buying it." This set is only targeted at FCB fans so it's not surprise it's not well received here as statistically, even if we were all football fans, there wouldn't be many huge Barça fans. For now, 10284 Camp Nou’s very existence – and any and all details surrounding it – are simply a rumour, so don’t put too much faith in them. At least until the LEGO Group confirms otherwise… I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
