About this deal

Used to explore the dark sewers of London whilst investigating a case for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Used it to illuminate Jacob's room while talking with Bill, Charlie and Percy Weasley, along with Nearly Headless Nick. The wand has been designed using scans of the original film props, creating true replicas of those seen on screen, right down to the scars and patinas! Used it to patroll the Hogwarts corridors at night, during which he caught Harry Potter out of bed, but the pair was interrupted by Remus Lupin. Once you get the hang of working the clay, you might surprise yourself and want to take things further by adding tendrils, leaves or other shapes.

If one listens closely in the third and the sixth films, one can hear a very soft humming sound when the spell is cast. You can safely make these illuminated DIY Harry Potter wands learning from my mistakes so it’s all fun and no frustration! Used it to light the Forbidden Forest when she and Harry Potter followed Rubeus Hagrid to meet Grawp. Using your electrical tape create a hinge and attach the piece so it will cover the gap between the rings on the outside of your craft stick.

The counter-charm for the spell was the Wand-Extinguishing Charm ( Nox), which was used to extinguish the light from the caster's wand. This light was fairly warm, and risked igniting flammable things, including the caster's wand if they were careless enough.

This spell was taught in first-year Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry [3] [7] [8] and was detailed in The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection, [1] another unidentified spellbook [3] and the Book of Spells.I disassembled the wand that was a dud, only to find it was dry on the outside and wet on the inside. One of my kids did complain and say they would prefer to do the wands wood colour so it is more authentic. The Wand-Lighting Charm [1] ( Lumos) [2] was a charm that illuminated the tip of the caster's wand, allowing the caster to see in the dark. Used it nonverbally to light the run-down stone outhouse near The Burrow, where the Weasleys kept their broomsticks, to talk with Harry Potter. Used it to illuminate Yusuf Kama's eye in Nicolas Flamel's house while he was trying to pull out with tweezers a water dragon parasite which was weakening him.

So, one of my first two test wands failed because we neglected to completely protect the battery component. It was magical in a way only things of youth can be…the feeling of being unencumbered and giddy mixed with the power of imagination. If you’ve read my post on how to make a tombstone prop, you know that both Kevin and I have a background in theatre. So I guess what I’m saying is, just go with your instincts and paint with as many colors and layers as you’d like. Start by wrapping a strip of copper tape around the craft stick approximately where you want your on/off switch.Used it to light the stairs in 4 Privet Drive, when she and other members of the Advance Guard escorted Harry Potter from Surrey to 12 Grimmauld Place. Paint your name in the sky, draw your own Patronus, replicate duelling battles or recreate scenes and practice your best ‘expelliarmus’, ‘stupefy’ and ‘expecto patronum’ spells! If you want a brighter rock, you can wire two LED lights to the battery, but the battery will burn out twice as fast. We went with a more natural look for our DIY Harry Potter Wands, using mostly browns, black and metallics, but the sky’s the limit!
