About this deal

Later, Vizsla met with Kryze and Obi-Wan. While there, Vizsla discussed Death Watch with Kryze while Obi-Wan left to investigate Death Watch's motives. Later, Vizsla was informed that Death Watch had captured Obi-Wan and left for his hideout to confront Obi-Wan. Upon arrival, Vizsla sent three men after Obi-Wan, who was rescued by Kryze, but Obi-Wan easily defeated them. Resolving to remove Maul from the throne, Bo-Katan Kryze sought Republic help to lay siege to Mandalore. Bo-Katan leads the Mandalorian Loyalist faction that emerges following Maul's ascendancy. However, this minifigure is based upon Death Watch from season five, rather than the season seven loyalist faction. That seems notably strange, especially since candidates like Ursa Wren or the opposing Rook Kast occupy important roles. Either character would have been splendid additions here. To cover his involvement with the Death Watch, [11] Vizsla, already a gifted statesman, publicly proclaimed loyalty to Kryze and was appointed the Governorship of Concordia, [19] which was legally considered a semi-autonomous province. [7] As the Governor of Concordia, Vizsla became a trusted ally of Duchess Satine. [21] Despite his deep hatred of the woman, Vizsla was able to be outwardly loyal and maintained appearances whenever with her as part of his official duties. [7] In his secret life, however, he slowly made moves to undermine her rule. Though Kryze's reforms had been popular and generally supported, some Mandalorians continued to hold onto their traditions in thought if not in deed, and the Death Watch sought to gather support from these individuals across the Mandalore sector. Using fear propaganda to recruit more to their cause [11] and vandalizing public spaces in the New Mandalorian capital Sundari, Vizsla was able to make Death Watch's presence known, [7] but these tactics had limited success in swaying public opinion against the duchess. [11]

A concept art model sheet that was published in Star Wars Insider 116 indicated that Vizsla's name was originally spelled "Visla." On the same model sheet, the symbol on his cape was depicted as the Mythosaur, suggesting that the symbol was originally that of the Mandalorians and was adjusted to the shriek-hawk for the final version of "The Mandalore Plot." [72] Because "Voyage of Temptation" was produced with the television series' first season, well before the other installments in the Mandalorian story arc, the character model used for Vizsla in the episode was based on the Phase I clone trooper armor design—disguised only by his serape—instead of the finalized character design used in the later episodes. [73] Appearances [ ] If the Republic intervenes now, Death Watch will not be able to take over the planet. Consider: once the Senate sends peacekeeping troops to Mandalore, the people will be surrounded by a military presence. Most distasteful. They will rebel." Star Wars: The Clone Wars The Complete Season One (First pictured in concept art in the included production journal) The fuselage should house Mandalorians for deployment and that could perhaps have been achieved if the model was larger, as mentioned in the review.

Specifications

Hard to believe. It would have to be someone at the highest level of influence among the Separatists." Pre Vizsla was the leader of the Mandalorian Death Watch faction during the Clone Wars. He hatched several plots with Count Dooku to take over the planet Mandalore, as he believed that its current leaders, lead by Duchess Satine Kryze, were weak and had followed the wrong course of action. He was a strong believer in the warlike culture that Mandalore had always been and wished to reinstate those nearly forgotten ways. When his plans failed, Vizsla turned on Dooku, who gave him a lightsaber scar across his face. The Death Watch leader, with but a fraction of his previous fighting force, went into seclusion, vowing revenge on the Count and on the new Mandalorian government that he had failed to conquer. He later received the coordinates of Dooku's location from Separatist deserter Lux Bonteri so he could kill Dooku. After Lux escaped Death Watch, disillusioned with their beliefs, it is unknown what happened to the coordinates of Dooku's location. Following her introduction during Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Bo-Katan Kryze has appeared prominently during Star Wars Rebels and The Mandalorian too. This character's bright armour has remained reasonably consistent between distinct television series and her helmet displays particularly intricate detail, corresponding precisely with the source material.

At some point, Vizsla and his soldiers came across an escape pod lost in deep space which held Darth Maul and his brother Savage Opress: a pair of Zabrak siblings, who had laid claim to the titles of Dark Lords of the Sith, and who were critically wounded following their previous defeat at the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Despite Bo-Katan's suggestion of executing the brothers, Vizsla spared them, realizing that they shared a common enemy in the Jedi, and seeing the potential for an allegiance. And you shall have it, but the Jedi are no different from Dooku, and this one shall pay in part for their crimes against Mandalore. So you see, it's not murder at all. It's like you say. It's justice !" ―Pre Vizsla and Luz Bonteri [30] They could not engineer all this. The problem has clearly grown much larger than we thought, and I suspect some external force helped it along."

I am Pre Vizsla. We are the Death Watch, descendants of the true warrior faith all Mandalorians once knew. Now my people are living in exile because we will not abandon our heritage. Our people were warriors. Strong. Feared. Now they're ruled by the New Mandalorians who think that being a pacifist is a good thing. They've given away our honor and tradition for peace. Pre Vizsla and his new allies set about building a criminal enterprise to fund and supply the ousting of the New Mandalorians. We are the Death Watch, descendants of the true warrior faith all Mandalorians once knew. Now my people are living in exile because we will not abandon our heritage." ―Pre Vizsla [6] Star Wars: The Rebellion Will Be Televised by Breznican, Anthony on Vanity Fair ( May 17, 2022) (archived from the original on May 17, 2022)

However, this design actually represents a different variant of the Kom'rk-class Starfighter, with an alternative fuselage and laser cannon arrangement. Additionally, the distinct blue, dark blue and light bluish grey colour scheme looks fantastic. However, the absence of landing gear to support the nose is absolutely inexplicable. The craft looks dreadful without any support, leaving the fuselage to tilt downwards. Retractable landing gear could easily have been included and was present on the rendition from 2012 so I am very disappointed by its omission. Instead, the vessel rests on 1x3 double-inverted slopes which are completely inadequate. That and the Kom'rk do share aesthetic similarities but this model is definitely intended to represent the Kom'rk." Gar Saxon appears anything but generic, sporting an extraordinary helmet which confirms his loyalty to Maul and the Shadow Collective! The distinctive horns appear slightly too short when compared with the source material, although their angular design is appealing. Moreover, I love the yellow visor and red markings that differentiate this Mandalorian helmet from others. Listen, Duchess. Do you hear the people? They cry out for change. Your weak-minded rule of Mandalore is at an end. The resurrection of our warrior past is about to begin!" ―Pre Vizsla, to Satine Kryze [8]
