About this deal

The next step for us was to look at all of the products that fall within the Dash cams category, of which we found 22 products at Argos. So we pulled together all of the prices of these products to analyse the average prices as well as finding the cheapest and most expensive options. Overall, when it comes to sheer design and aesthetics, the Motorola MDC300GW is one of the best looking dashboard cameras in the market today. Performance –

The priciest dash cam in this batch and Transcend's most expensive model to date, the DrivePro 550 has a lot to prove.

The next step after looking at products in the same category, was to look at products from the same brand, Motorola. The brand of product you buy can vary in importance, from person to person. Some people will of course be much more particular about the brands they will use. Whilst others aren’t interested in the brand and are more interested in the overall quality or price of the product itself. Thankfully Motorola is a brand that many customers have grown to love over the years and is very popular for items in the Dash cams category. The 1080p video footage that you get out of the MDC300GW is perfectly acceptable and the built-in stability control irons out most bumps and shudders caused by uneven road surfaces. The low lux sensor performs well in low light situations and the 3-inch rear touchscreen is one of the largest (and crispest) around, making interacting with the various menus and settings very easy. Is this Transcend dash cam worth the extra money and what was its video quality like in our tough lab tests? Our full Transcend DrivePro 550 review reveals all. Latest dash cams on test The next step was to try and narrow down our search even more. So we’ve already looked the prices of products in the Dash cams category. Then we’ve also looked at the prices of products from Motorola. So this step combines the two and looks specifically at the price you’d expect to pay for Motorola branded products in the Dash cams category.

If the brand you buy is important to you, our best advice is to spend some time writing up your own list of ideal brands. That way when you come to the point where you’re comparing product options you can filter to only show the products from brands in your list. It’s highly likely, unless you’re a hard-line dashcam aficionado with a collection case full of the things at home, that you had no idea Motorola made dashcams. They’re far better known for their mobile phones (who remembers the catchy ‘Hello Moto’ jingle from their old ads?) and, more recently, their smartwatches. In fact, you might be forgiven for thinking the company doesn’t exist anymore for the amount the name is heard nowadays.Matching its cheaper peers, this Transcend dash cam records in Full HD resolution at a maximum of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
