About this deal

Last year’s wedges ranged from 50° to 60°, and now in the TT model, there are options for both a 46° and 48° configurations. The Indi Stingray TT wedge gives you much of the the look, feel, and performance of the original, but in a legal version. The topline is a bit bigger on the Stingray as well, but I prefer a slightly thicker top line and the larger face.

After learning about the different models and how they perform during the Indi Golf Product Clinic, I was completely sold on the benefits these wedges would provide for my golf game. When you are purchasing, you should be sure if you want the conforming or the non conforming versions. Forgiveness: The forgiveness on the Indi ATK wedge is similar to other premium wedges on the market. Took me a while to get used to this wedge due to insane amount of spin it generates compared to my Glide 2. Initial range shots, the stingray flies a little lower and with a bit more spin, but that could be due to being fresh.

What makes these wedges incredibly playable is the ScoopBack design, which thins out some areas behind the face and pushes those saved grams to the perimeter, thus leaving golfers with a more forgiving design. Designed as a premium solution for the recreational golfer, StingRay wedges feature large open square grooves that increase spin by 50% on a full swing. It’s kind of like there’s a concave perimeter weight look to it, and it feels really cool in your hand. Having been one to play with the original non-conforming Indi wedge and reading your review on this one, I really want to give it a go and see how it performs.During their internal testing, Indi Golf says that these Traction Grooves can provide up to 25% more spin versus competitor’s wedges. Around the Green: Around the green, I was able to play a wide range of shots from a high-flop, to a one-hop stop, and even a low runner. With the StingRay being non-conforming I also think it will be a hard sell except for the weekend and scramble warriors just wanting to have more of a fun novelty wedge. I don't compete in competitions and won't be any time soon, so the non-forming part doesn't bother me at all.

Being a picky wedge player, I’ve put the Indi Golf TT Wedge through a lot of competitions to get in the bag. For instance, if you are 75 yards on with a 56 deg on a receptive green, you might hit one with 10,000rpm with your standard wedge and watch it hit, bounce, and suck back to where it landed or even a foot in front of your pitch mark. While I hover in and around the high single-digits handicap, I feel I’m a pretty solid wedge player. Those difficult, low running chips that bounce and check are a cinch with these wedges, and as the author said, they’re terrific out of the sand. So far around the greens, everything seems good the stingray feels real good and there is a good amount of check on shots, nothing that stood out compared to my Wilson.

Both wedges have a very clean player profile and are offered in loft options from the 50 to the 60-degree wedge. As mentioned I didn't get a ton of time to hit the bad boy but I didn't want to leave anyone who was anxiously waiting these pictures high and dry!It is also why I am going to pull the string on making sure my bag is equipped with a INDI VR 56 and 60 degree version to complete this wedge set. Now, before you envision yourself sucking wedge shots back 30 feet, let me be clear that the difference is not huge.
