It does look like regular jeans on the exterior waistband, so at least the elastic does not show nor look like you are wearing maternity pants. It’s about 1+” wide (same as what you see on the exterior section) but is softer than expected, so not a deal breaking feature. But by targeting the waist, and having the higher front rise, it does not help flatten the belly along the button/zipper area at all like that feature claims.

I'd have to have them hemmed or fold them under so they don't bunch up around the ankles terribly.
