About this deal

This book is full of essential information for a Potterhead like me. I have to say that there are some technicalities, but nothing too hard to understand. It teaches us about spells, charms, curses, hexes, jinxes, and enchanted objects. I mean, it’s fun to read about some spells and some magic-kind of stuff, but in my personal opinion it is a very long book. Harry Potter was saved from this spell a number of times, both by his mother's sacrifice, because he was an accidental Horcrux, and because his wand and his enemy's were made of the same core. I could not be prouder that this simple school text book is now being used in schools for magic all over the world, and has been translated into seventy-two languages, including Gobbledegook and Mermish." — Miranda Goshawk, Book of Spells ( Foreword) [src] In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, the Book of Spells is a required textbook. It is possible that it is meant to refer to the Standard Book of Spells, since the book in Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery seems to cover charms only.

I’m pretty sure I just fell in love! OMG this idea is so CUTE! If you can tell I’m kind of a Harry Potter nut, thanx for sharing!!!! Where the hell are my panties?' Hermione, Cho and Gabrielle said in turn as they were dried off and noticed that they were in fact panty-free. You'll have a detailed explanation of each spell, including for what it's used, if required a pronunciation (along with a translation, since many are in Latin), or indicating that it's a non-verbal one, along with a visual graphic showing if it's required certain movement of hand using the wand. Moreover, indicating a "Magic Moment" (a moment when the said spell was used in a book, movie, video game, etc...), and going beyond with notes revealing even more context information about each spell, and even "hand-written" notes (very much like in the way of Half-Blood Prince). Hiii i loved this i finally had something to give to my sister for her birthday but are there anymore and not only for grade 1 and is it possible to make one where i dont have to cut the sides as some people are unable to cut evenly (like me) Reply

This is one of the best reference books about the Wizarding World of Harry Potter that you can get nowadays in the market! We can't… I just don't have enough time… I've only got a few more hours before the Second Task begins' Harry replied, clearly fighting the urge to risk his survival with another opportunity to split Hermione in half.

Arresto Momentum (Slowing Charm) Type: Charm Pronunciation: ah-REST-oh mo-MEN-tum Description: Decreases the velocity of a moving target. Can be used on multiple targets, as well as on the caster themselves. It was invented by Daisy Pennifold in 1711 for use on the Quaffle in Quidditch. Seen/Mentioned: Used by Dumbledore to save one of his students from a fall in 1993; Hermione Granger used it, to little effect, in 1998 to cushion an otherwise deadly fall. Etymology: Likely the combination of the Anglo- French arester, meaning "to bring to a stop" and the Latin momentum, meaning "the force or strength gained whilst moving"; the literal translation hence is "Bring the force or strength gained whilst moving to a stop". ( Arrow-shooting spell) Type: Conjuration Description: Fires arrows from the caster's wand. Seen/Mentioned: The spell used to be used by Appleby Arrows supporters at Quidditch matches to show their support for their teams; however, the British and Irish Quidditch League banned the use of the spell at matches when referee Nugent Potts was pierced through the nose with a stray arrow in 1894. Ascendio Type: Charm Yes, this book is filled to the brim, but it isn't just a list of spells. Oh no. Almost all the spells have a pronunciation, when/where it was used (and this ranges from the books to the movies to the games (even the trading card game)), a what it does field (handy to know), and there is some extra trivia listed which I just loved to read. Then, to make it more personal, there are things scrawled near some of the spells or magical objects, listing why something wasn't a good idea, give us some more insight, and more.

While Hermione, Cho, Gabrielle and Ron were taken down to depths of the lake, Harry was sound asleep in the library, having never found any solution to the difficulties of the Second Task. He woke with a start only ten minutes to the beginning of the task when Dobby the house elf woke him suddenly. Apparently, Dobby had learned of Harry's predicament and had come to help him out in his time of need. He gave Harry a handful of Gillyweed and told him to eat it prior to going under water. Harry thanked Dobby and without hesitating another second, ran from the library and down to the lake. Hi, This is a great book! I tried printing double sided but it keeps getting cut off. I was wondering what setting it needs to be on, aside from flipping on short side?

This spellbook will enable you to perform a range of basic and not-so-basic charms that will enhance, protect and enliven your life." — Description [src] The book is separated in sections in which we learn about various spells. For instance you can learn all about charms, but you can also learn jinxes and hexes. There are cute spells, easy spells, household spells, and spells one probably shouldn't be using EVER (and I love that the book mentions that). I had fun spotting the spells I know so well, but also discovering some new ones. Yes, new spells. I haven't watched that Fantastic Beasts movie (and not sure if I ever will) nor have I played all the games (just the LEGO ones). So I was definitely delighted with some new spells in my life and finding out what they do and how to use them. As many of you know from Halloween, my kids are obsessed with Harry Potter…still. What is better than little kids yelling out funny sounding spells that make no sense, and aren’t even pronounced correctly? Well ok, there might be better things, but it sure is cute. If you wish to peek at my blog post about it, it is here: http://angleascraftydistractions.blogspot.ca/2012/04/harry-potter-spell-book.htmlHomenum Revelio doesn't appear much throughout the series, but certainly came in clutch in Deathly Hallows when Harry, Hermione, and Ron were on the run. That's because this spell reveals if there is a human presence around you so you know whether you're alone or not. 14. Obliviate Description: This spell is used to create, and control, a jet of clear water from the tip of the wand; it is probably related to Aguamenti. Seen/Mentioned: Jacob's sibling used this spell to repel an Acromantula that guarded the Forest Vault in the Forbidden Forest. Snape casting Vipera Evanesca to vanish the serpent cast upon by Draco Type: Vanishment Pronunciation: vee-PAIR-uh eh-vuh-NES-kuh Description: Vanishes snakes. Subsequently, it is the counter-spell for the Snake Summons Spell. Seen/Mentioned: Severus Snape cast this spell in 1992 at the Duelling Club to vanish a snake that Draco Malfoy had conjured while duelling Harry Potter. [40] Albus Dumbledore also used this spell to vanish Voldemort's snake during their Duel in the Ministry Atrium. [6] Etymology: Vipera is a genus of venomous vipers, a type of snake. Evanesca likely shares its origin with Evanesco, which means "disappear" in Latin.
