About this deal

He created it in 1931 and it was used by London Transport from 1933 but Phyllis Pearson clearly preferred a more geographical map. These bespoke designs can differ in terms of the mapping used and feature additional personalisation such as fonts and markers to pinpoint locations. Straight away I was comparing with now and found plenty of differences as well as plenty that has remained. Additional healthcare (hospitals, walk-in centres and hospices) and transport connections (National Rail, London Tramlink, Docklands Light Railway, London Underground and Overground stations, and River Bus pier) are indexed as well.

The Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) boundary* There are eight pages of road mapping at 3 miles to 1 inch that cover much of the Home Counties area. This seems to have been used on all the company's folding maps, and possibly also those in book form. The book paper has been coloured to suggest age so it is slightly yellowed on some pages and ‘dirty’ on the cover. Also included is separate mapping of London Heathrow, London Luton, London Stansted and London Gatwick airports. Railways, railway stations and underground stations are clearly marked, and colours distinguish sites of interest and various other buildings e.

Optional pins and tags allow you to further personalise your map, for example pinpoint and tag places visited, would like to visit, places you've lived etc.

The detail on this mapping includes the congestion charging zone boundary, red light camera locations, embassies and selected hotels. This map is also available laminated and framed in either superb satin-finish aluminium or light, black or dark wood supplied ready to display. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose.Raster format is a digital format that uses pixels (like a photograph) and consists of a flat single layered image.

Made from real ayous wood, with a choice of white, black or teak stain finish (subject to availability). So Pearsall founded the Geographers’ Map Company to print them herself, and began selling them in 1936. Since 1936 when the iconic A-Z Atlas and Guide to London was first published, A-Z has been the trusted source for street maps and atlases, as well as Visitors' Guides, Road Atlases and the Adventure Map series for walkers. It’s irresistible to keep on comparing the historical map pages with today to find the glaring and the small changes that make up the city.

Please note that due to licensing restrictions, we will contact you to confirm use of imagery before sending the file to you. Geographers' A–Z Map Company was the official supplier of atlases and maps for the 2012 Olympic Games and 2012 Paralympic Games and produced detailed maps for the Olympic Park in Stratford, as well as all the other venues that were used during the games in London and throughout the United Kingdom. You are also able to use your map with drawing pins allowing personalisation and the ability to plan travels. And the Home Office Industrial Museum is long gone so you can no longer see “appliances for the promotion of health amongst industrial workers”. Postcode districts, one-way streets and safety camera locations with their maximum speed limit are featured on both scales of street mapping. It’s not a book you can read from cover to cover and critique the words so I started by looking at the pull-out sheet map stuck in the back: Pictorial Map of London. Coverage extends north-west to Grantham and Boston in Lincolnshire, west beyond Bedford and Luton, and, unlike the corresponding folded map, south only to the northern section of the M25 and Chelmsford. The cover was proud to announce the maps included house numbers along main streets and 23,000 streets (9,000 more than any other similar atlas index). Greater London A-Z Map *New 2019 release* The Greater London A-Z Map is a superb clear, colourful high quality map that covers the same area as the market leading print version of the A-Z "Master Atlas of Greater London". This feature is also a great benefit to anyone planning routes as it instantly displays the distance for the complete route.
