Mrs. Evadne Cake is a psychic medium. Her size is small, but her hat and purse are extra-large. When Mrs. Cake sits with her hat on and cuddling her purse, she looks as if only her face is not covered with these accessories. Mrs. Cake appears in Student Counsel, having agreed to teach Starlight Glimmer and Trixie her recipe for a special cake. When Starlight arrives to get the recipe, Mrs. Cake reveals that Trixie had already gotten it. In Hearts and Hooves Day, Mrs. Cake uncomfortably watches Big McIntosh and Cheerilee share a milkshake at Sugarcube Corner. She tells the Cutie Mark Crusaders that she's "all for romance, but this has been going on for hours."

The Cakes appear as baking competition judges in Pinkie Pie: Big Baking Bonanza! Baby Flurry Heart's Heartfelt Scrapbook [ ] In No Second Prances, Pinkie Pie attempts to set up a friendship between Mrs. Cake and Starlight Glimmer, but fails after Starlight magically makes a cake drop on her head. In The Big Mac Question, Mrs. Cake helps Sugar Belle with her plans to propose marriage to Big McIntosh, but in her desire to help, she takes on more work than she can handle by herself. In the end, she attends Big Mac and Sugar Belle's wedding. It is possible that Mrs. Cake can be considered a witch. Besides conversing with the dead, Mrs. Cake also has the ability to turn on or turn off her precognition, a very useful tool while walking the dangerous streets of Ankh-Morpork, but premonitions also make her conversation with normal people very confusing, because she tends to reply to a question right before it has been asked. Yet, if she has replied and then the person decides not to ask the question, she gets a terrible headache.

The Cakes appear in the same group photo on Twilight's mirror again in School Daze - Part 2. In The Parent Map, Mrs. Cake briefly appears walking outside the Castle of Friendship. The couple frequently perform catering services in Ponyville, specializing in sweets and baked goods. Pinkie Pie works for them in their shop, and the Cakes show a good amount of patience for the party-loving pony, especially when she eats their merchandise or uses their shop floor as a party location. Faust has stated that they love her as a daughter. Mrs. Cup Cake has a particularly motherly affection, referring to others and even Princess Celestia herself, albeit not deliberately, as "dearie". In The Last Problem, Mr. and Mrs. Cake attend Twilight Sparkle's coronation ceremony.
