The Casio G-Shock watch boasts a solar atomic timekeeping system, which allows the watch to remain charged for up to eight months. First offered in 1995, it’s popular among military, law enforcement, firefighters and other professionals who need a watch impervious to tough environments. Very clear info in them while there is enough space left for the main digital readout with pretty good digit size. As basic models, the DW5600E-1V and DW6900-1V are some of the most affordable G-Shock watches available.
When I first asked the clerk at Kohl's if I could look at the watch I thought it might be a fake since the strap just didn't feel tough like the GA's. In their favor, the DW5600 and DW6900 have “flash alerts” with a flashing display and buzzer for the alarm and hourly time signals. I don't have a GW5600J (yet) but at the moment, if forced to pick one over the other, I would select the GW-M5600 because of its lower profile and I generally prefer squares to rounds. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a time swap function where it swaps between the home time and the second time zone.This new Solar Atomic model is based on the original DW6900 model, G-Shock's best-selling case design. There is a rechargeable battery in there and that should be good for 20+ years unless you put the watch in a box. We believe that it could be a manufacturing, supply, or distribution issue related to the Covid-19 pandemic that will hopefully be alleviated at some point. With a waterproof rating of 20 ATM and a water resistant depth of 200 meters, it is suitable for underwater activities such as swimming and snorkeling. The lower rectangular LCD area displays the usual time, day / date, and other chronograph functions.
The trend graph can be toggled on to replace the weekday at the top of the LCD (displaying constantly in the Time Mode). This watch also has a metallic finish dial with LCD display that changes color depending on the angle to the light. The GW-M5610, now the GW-M5610U with updated module, is a modern day version of the original G-Shock with Tough Solar power and Multi-Band 6 automatic radio time syncing. for Kathmandu (KTM) in Nepal and UTC-2 for Fernando de Noronha (FEN) in Brazil, and the cities of Miami and Toronto are omitted (as they are the same time zone as New York).
The first two graphs indicate the condition or activation of various functions, such as power-saving mode, hourly signal, alarm, auto-backlight and battery charge condition (charge, low, medium, high). Also remember that each section is a range (L-M-H) so even if it hits “H,” it might just be cresting the bottom of the “H” range.
