I’ve made many MOCs, but my favourite so far is my Rise of Huitzilopotchli build. It’s a build from Aztec mythology that depicts the birth of the Aztec god Huitzilopotchli atop an Aztec pyramid. I was inspired to build it when the amazing Ancient Warrior minifig was released with CMF Series 21. The Goonies was (and still is) one of my all-time favourite movies. I’ve watched the movie so many times and enjoy it every time. As a kid, I never had any Goonies toys (though I did put a bunch of hours into the NES Goonies game!) and always thought it’d be a great theme for a LEGO set. Mouth's quote in the rescue portion about 'filming a music video with a bunch of pro-wrestlers' is a reference to the music video of the The Goonies theme song ' Goonies 'R' Good Enough' by American singer and songwriter Cyndi Lauper where many wrestlers in the World Wrestling Entertainment (then called the World Wrestling Federation at the time of the Goonies' release, namely Andre the Giant, the Iron Sheik, The Fabulous Moolah, Nikolai Volkoff, Freddie Blassie, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Captain Lou Albano, and Wendi Ritcher) were cast in the aforementioned music video. The two groups emerge on Astoria's beach, where the Goonies reunite with their families and the police. The Fratellis are arrested, but Chunk prevents Sloth from also being taken; he invites Sloth to live with him, which Sloth accepts. It is also very reminiscent of other existing Lego licensed products such as Indiana Jones and Harry Potter, and just like everyone’s favourite wizard. Everything is centred on children as the main protagonists. It also has the added appeal of being a nostalgic setpiece that the older collectors of Lego will cherish.
