-- Tre Mason is ready to announce a decision about his future intentions.Auburn's star running back, the SEC's leading rusher and the Auburn single-season record-holder with 1,816 yards this season, will meet with reporters at 1 p.m. Thursday to discuss his future plans, according to a release from the school.Mason, who carried 317 times, averaged 5.7 yards per carry and did his best work against the best defenses Auburn faced, has impressed NFL draft analysts this season with his season, which earned him a spot in New York as a Heisman Trophy finalist."He doesn't have top-tier speed, but I love his vision, patience and power,"."He has put up big numbers against the top defenses in college football, and he's proved he can handle a heavy workload."Mason, and his potential draft position is hard to guess based on draft experts.theNo. 8 running back among underclassmen available for the NFL Draft in his most recent position rankings, butsaid Mason could be a third-round pick."There are always small things you can improve upon in your game," McShay said. "I don't think there's going to be a huge jump in terms of how he's running, his patience or his vision."Mason, listed at 5-foot-10, 205 pounds, doesn't have prototypical size, but he's been extremely durable, never missing a game during his three years at Auburn despite a heavy workload this season.In addition, Mason has elite vision and lateral quickness, and he's proven to be a versatile back who can catch the ball out of the backfield, return kicks and protect as a pass blocker.Mason had 12 catches for 163 yards and a touchdown, including a touchdown catch in the Tigers' BCS National Championship loss to Florida State on Monday. As a kick returner, Mason averaged 26.3 yards per return and returned a kick for a touchdown against Washington State.Mason was too distraught after the national title game to offer any hints on where he might head., has already declared he will enter the draft early."Emotions are everywhere right now. That's not really what's going through my head right now," Mason said. "That decision will probably come later on, but right now I'm not thinking of that."
