- Huntsville Mayor Tommy Battle and Arts Council Executive Director Allison Dillon-Jauken will lead the recognition of 17 arts and cultural organizations receiving a total of 0,000 in city-funded grants at a reception on Jan. 15. The State of the Arts reception and Huntsville Arts Cultural Grant Program Awards will take place beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Von Braun Center Playhouse.

The Huntsville Arts and Cultural Grant Program was established in 2013 with funding from the City of Huntsville. The 2014 grant recipients completed a competitive application process assessed by a citizen panel with representatives from each of Huntsville s five council districts. All grant program recipients are established Huntsville arts and cultural organizations deemed to be contributing to the city s quality of life and economic development.
